今日はアートなお話。

 

前の投稿で一緒に写真にうつっていたWooly Magazine編集長サリーにお誘いを受けて、Wooly Artsがオーガナイズしているart exhibitionに行ってきたんだ。

 

 

「GARO ROMANCE – ガロロマンス

体の中でずっと鳴る音」

 

とっても素敵な空間だった！

 

出展アーティストは田代敏朗さん、Sabrina Horakさん、Noriko Takemoriさんの三方。

 

ヨーロッパにずっと住んでいたから小さい頃から美術館とかにはよく行っていたし、ルーブルも行ったし、色々見てきたけど、コンテンポラリーアートにはあまり触れたことがなくて。

いい機会でした。

 

 

 

Let’s talk art today. Remember Sally, the editor-in-chief of Wooly Magazine? (If you don’t know her, read my last blog post or go to her instagram @fancytokyosally) Well she invited me to an art exhibition, “GARO ROMANCE”. There were three artists’ art works, Toshiaki Tashiro, Sabrina Horak and Noriko Takemori. Since i lived in Europe for a long time, I’ve always been close to art; I even went to Louvre before but I never had a chance to experience contemporary art before. It was great to be able to step into this world.

 

 

 

 

田代敏朗さんー彼はWooly Artsに所属しているアーティスト。16歳の頃に史上最年少で首席（県知事賞、山口亮一賞）受賞をして以来、さまざまなアワードを受賞している実力派。最近ではひよこ本舗の新商品とコラボレーションして注目を浴びている。

Toshiaki Tashiro is an artist of Wooly Arts. He has been a talented artist since the age of 16, winning many different kinds of art awards.  The first photo I took of his piece looks like it’s one big painting, but actually it consists of three different paintings.

 

 

この絵は１枚に見えて、実は３枚の異なる作品をくっつけたもの。

個々で見ても個性的だけどつなげるとまた違う感じ。。。

 

田代さんの作品は線とパターンがすごく特徴的で素敵。

ビビッドな色味なのに、なんかほんわりあったかくて見てて楽しい気持ちになっちゃう！

 

His art pieces are all very vivid and the lines and patterns are very distinctive. I love how it’s so pop and vivid in colors and edgy in patterns, but isn’t too much and looking at it makes me smile.

 

 

Sabrina Horakーオーストリア生まれで、ウィーン美術アカデミーを卒業したのちに日本に拠点を移している彼女。なんと、アーティストとしてウィーンですでに活動していたのに、日本の藝大で油絵を専攻している学生に。都市社会が作り出す人工楽園「PARADISE」とそこに存在する群衆との関係性をテーマに絵画と彫刻の両方の要素をあわせもつ作品を制作している。

Sabrina Horak was born in Austria, graduated Vienna Arts Academy and became an artist in Austria. For some reason, now she moved her career to Japan, and not only that comes as a surprise but she is also a student in Japan’s most prestigious arts school. The concept of her art is an artificial PARADISE made by urban society and how the relationships between people within the PARADISE.

 

 

“It never rains in Shangri La”

彼女の作品はちょっと本当にパンチがあって目が離せない感じだった。

コンセプトもかっこいいし、彼女が描く楽園は人のハッピーな部分とダークな部分両方をうつしだしてるような気がする。

 

I fell in love with her surreal, fun art. I love the concept, and I also felt that her work is not all about the bright and fun side of urban paradise but also depicts the dark side of people…. do you feel it as well?

何がおもしろいって、絵という２次元の世界と、彫刻という３次元の世界、絵と彫刻とも違う世界にある金具（チェーン）を使っている作品。正面から見るとこんな感じ。いや〜シュール、素敵。

 

The interesting thing about her work is that she combines the 2D painting world with 3D sculpture world. It looks different depending on which angle you look her piece from. For example, look at this from the front.

しかし横から見るとこんな立体的。トリックアートみたいな感覚で楽しめる。正面から見るのとはまた違う雰囲気。

 

Then take a look at it from 45 degrees angle. It’s like trick art in that sense, don’t you think? It gives a whole new dimension to it.

 

Noriko Takemoriー画家ではなくイラストレーターという肩書き。ロンドン在住で、セントラルセイントマーティン大学を卒業してからドローイング、落書き、版画に注力している。彼女にとって手をつかって何かを伝えるということが力を持つコミュニケーション方法の１つだという。

Noriko Takemori is an illustrator based in London. She graduated from Central Saint Martin University and ever seince engaed in drawing, doodling and woodcut. She believes that creating things with hands is one of the powerful communication means.

 

 

優しくて繊細なタッチの作品。ほかの２人とは違って色も柔らかい。

 

Unlike the two artists above, her paintings are more subtle and tender in colors and sharpness.

 

彼女のウェブサイトにいくと展示されていない作品もたくさんみれるのだけど、すごいナイロニスタのみんなが好きそうなタッチの絵だった！

 

There are more of her works on the website of hers. I think you NYLONISTAs would LOVE her illustrations!

 

めちゃくちゃ可愛いな。

 

 

 

こんな感じで、普段特にアーティスティックな生き方したり趣味を持っているわけでもないりさも、たまにこういう風にアートの世界にお邪魔すると、新しいものの感じ方だったりインスピレーションを得ることができるのです。

 

別に、アートを見たり感じたりするのに、詳しくある必要なんてない。「私よくわかんないし」とか「普段アートとか気にしないし」って思ってる人多いと思うんだけど、だからといって敬遠することはない。彼らは人に何かを伝えたいとか、発信したいとか、表現したいと思って制作活動を行ってこういう展覧会とかに展示してるわけであって。決して「この特定のアートがわかる、詳しい層のひとたち」に見せるために書いてるわけじゃないと思うんだよね・・・りさ自身がアーティストじゃないからわからないけど。でも、確実に、誰かに見てもらうために書いてることは確か。アートがわかる、わからないの前に、一度何も考えずにこういう小さな画廊にふらっと立ち寄ってみると、普段自分が生活をしてると感じられないことや世界観を体験することができると思うよ。

 

 

GARO ROMANCEは先週の日曜日で終了してしまったけど、また何かいく機会があったらブログでも書くね！

 

 

 

To be honest, I am not the artsy type of person. I don’t go to museums or exhibitions so often nor does my instagram look artsy… but I don’t think that matters at all. In fact, we should all be able to experience art the way we want to. It feels really refreshing and interesting to step into the art world especially when you are not so familiar with it. You get inspirations you would never get in your daily lives, and feel differently. You don’t have to KNOW art to be able to see it. It’s easy to push away art because you don’t know so much about it and you aren’t familiar with it, but that’s not a good enough reason to not be engage with art. Every artist want as many people to see their work and feel something, whether it’s “I don’t understand this” or “I like it” or “I don’t know why but I love it”. They aren’t creating art pieces just to show it to people with art knowledge or artistic backgrounds… Don’t think about knowing or not knowing art, and just wander into a small exhibition. I assure you will be able to feel and experience something that you don’t in your daily life.
