I think many of you NYLON mag readers are niche and yes, you guys are strong enough to prioritize your own taste in fashion and originality without giving a shit about what others think (especially what guys think lol). When I was younger, to be honest, I liked the girly-girl fashion, like white lacy dress with a pair of strap heels and curly brown hair with bangs blah blah blah…. the typical “cute” Japanese girl style. But then after exposing myself to many different kind of style and fashion through magazines and friends and music, I began to lean towards Hip Hop style fashion and street fashion, and now I am 22 who is obsessed with “strong” “sexy” “cool” beauty- the typical beauty commonly shared in America\/Europe. ( In japan, strength and sexiness in women are not as valued as it is in America and European countries.)<\/p>\n

I don’t know how to define “Baddie” but I guess it’s a type of girls who are sassy, sexy, a bit bitchy but strong and powerful. So today I’m going to give a short and easy tutorial on a Baddies inspired make up. There are some things that I found they have in common: They have thicker and angled eyebrows, have light eye colors, no bangs, high probability wearing glasses or baseball cap, very strong contouring and big lips.<\/p>\n

Never forget about contouring. What I did for this look is first I bronze my skin very broadly to tone down my skin color using MAC Mineralize Skin Finish. I put this mostly all over my face except for where I want to highlight, so basically all around my jaw line, cheek, nostrils, up to my temples and hair line on my forehead. Then I take HOOLA from Benefit Cosmetics using its own brush right in my cheek (do the fish face and apply it on where it sinks) like I’m drawing a thick line. This way, you can tone your skin darker and also create the effect like you have hollow cheeks.<\/p>\n

Then highlighting. I use high beam from Benefit Cosmetics (I’ve been using this for like 1 or 2 years but because it’s liquid it lasts forever:S). Put this on to your cheek bone right under your eyes, tip of your nose and on your chin. If you’re Asian and have the typical flat Asian face like I do, this will help your face look more 3D.<\/p>\n

I used M.A.C Lipstick in the shade “Sandy B” and another layer of Dior Maximizer. After your makeup is done, wear a baseball cap and put on your favorite glasses, and VOILA!<\/p>\n
